The History Hive Five Project

Note: I am not affiliated with The History Hive Five, and I was not asked to endorse it. I'm just a genre junkie who is letting their work guide part of my personal reading.

The production released a pre-launch giveaway shortly before premiering its first episode. The contest offered a variety of bee-themed swag, plus signed copies of novels by each host. I chuckled at the graphic, since all the featured titles were part of my personal library, three unread and two unreviewed. That's when a thought crossed my mind. What if I bumped the Hive Five titles to the top of my TBR?

Did I need another reading project? No, but the audacious idea took hold anyway. I found my copies and, believe it or not, got through all five titles before launch day. Then life got busy, and the reviews were delayed. I was working out how to get back on track when a new graphic appeared. The History Hive Five posted a Buzz Book of the Week, and I realized my little project didn't have to be so limited. It could be ongoing, casual, and it might help me tackle even more of my TBR.

My other projects have few rules and no timelines; why should this one? The only difference is that I'm letting genre experts guide my selections. I might not own all the titles, and I might not read all of the books, but my enthusiasm for what these women are doing remains, and I'm excited to see how I'll respond to their featured picks.
